Chart of the Nuclides

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a discounted price for students, government employees, reviewers, or non-profit agencies?

Sorry, but no. Many customers find that the Chart is one of less expensive reference works on nuclear physics available.

What's the difference between the Wallchart and the Textbook? Why does the Wallchart come with an extra booklet but the Textbook doesn't?

The Wallchart is a poster of the Chart of the Nuclides. The 48-page booklet that comes with the Wallchart is explanatory information. The Textbook includes all the information from both the Wallchart and the booklet all included together in one 88-page book. Whether you order the Textbook or the Wallchart (with its accompanying booklet) you are getting the same information.

Is there any reason I might not be happy with my Wallchart?

Please be aware that the Wallchart is a big poster (about 36"; x 60") printed on heavy, gloss paper. You can't fold it up like a map and stick it in your back pocket. If you need something portable, you'll want to order the Textbook version. Whether you get the Wallchart edition or the Textbook edition, you are getting the same information - only the formats are different.

How can I return unused material?

Sorry, all sales are final.

Why can't I just phone in my order for charts?

We need you to specify Wallchart or Textbook so there's no confusion. Sometimes customers say that they want a "Wallchart" thinking that the term "Wallchart" is synonymous with the "Chart of the Nuclides". Actually, the Chart of the Nuclides is available in two formats: the 9" x 12" Textbook or the 36" x 60" Wallchart. Both formats contain the same information.

I want to reference the Chart of the Nuclides in a book I'm publishing and I want to request permission to copy some data from the Chart in my work. Who do I contact for such permission?

Please email your request to Nuclides.Chart@lmco.com and be sure to include the title of your work, the author, and a detailed description of the material you want to copy. Also include the approximate number of books you will publish. We will forward your request to the authors, who, in the past, have given such permission in certain cases.

I would like to order a chart, but I want someone to call me so we can negotiate a lower price.

Terms, conditions, and prices are not negotiable. This helps us keep our administrative costs down so we don't have to raise prices in the future.

Is the Wallchart really 36" x 60"; (914 x 1524 mm)?

The actual size can vary by about 1/4" in each direction. There's enough white space around the edges for you to trim the Wallchart down to 35-1/2" x 59-1/2" if you want to.

I have some comments, suggestions, or questions about the technical content of the chart. Would you like to hear from me?

Sure! Email us your comment and we will forward it to the authors: Nuclides.Chart@lmco.com

Also, there is a comments form located in the back of the Textbook and the Booklet.

What is your taxpayer identification number?

52-181-3509
